Skoda Octavia A7 (2013–2020) is one of the most popular models of the Czech brand, but even such a reliable car periodically has problems with electrical equipment. Most often, the culprit is burnt out fuses or relay. In this article you will find complete fuse box diagrams for all modifications Octavia A7 (including RS and Scout), their decoding, as well as instructions for diagnosis and replacement.
We've sorted it out all three main blocks: in the cabin (to the left of the steering wheel), under the hood (main and additional) and in the trunk (for models with virtual dashboard). We paid special attention fuses that most often fail: F36 (cigarette lighter), F42 (heated seats) and F50 (climate control unit). If your radio stops working, your headlights don't light up, or your windows don't open, you'll find a solution here.
Where are the fuse boxes in the Skoda Octavia A7
B Octavia A7 provided three main fuse locations:
- 🚗 Salon block — to the left of the steering column, behind the plastic cover (accessible without tools).
- 🔧 Engine compartment block — next to the battery, under the black plastic cover (you need to unclip 4 clips).
- 🧳 Luggage block - only for versions with Virtual Cockpit or MIB2 panel, is located under the trunk floor (you need to remove the cover).
On restyled models (2017–2020) the location of the blocks has not changed, but additional relays have appeared for the systems Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist. If your machine is equipped xenon headlights or LED optics, also check the fuse F63 in the engine compartment - it is responsible for the ignition unit.

Interior fuse box: diagram and decoding
Salon block in Octavia A7 is responsible for main consumers: cigarette lighter, power windows, audio system and lighting. To get to it:
- Open the driver's door.
- Remove the plastic cover by pulling it towards you (it is secured with two latches).
- Use the tweezers supplied with the vehicle to remove the fuses.
Below is complete diagram indicating the ratings and purpose of each fuse:
| Fuse no. | Denomination (A) | Purpose | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| F36 | 20 | Cigarette lighter, 12V socket in trunk | Often burns out when using powerful devices (vacuum cleaner, compressor) |
| F42 | 30 | Heated front seats | If the heating does not work, also check the relay J359 |
| F50 | 10 | Climate control unit (Climatronic) |
When burned out, temperature settings are reset |
| F58 | 5 | Buttons on the steering wheel (multimedia, cruise control) | If the buttons do not work, also check the contacts of the steering column switches |
Attention! fuse F36 designed for 20A, but many owners install 30A for working with powerful devices. This may lead to wiring fire! It is better to use a splitter with a separate fuse.

Engine compartment: fuses and relays
Engine compartment block Octavia A7 is responsible for power electrics: starter, generator, cooling fans and injection system. Also located here relay, which often fail (for example, J329 — fuel pump relay).
To open a block:
- Open the hood and locate the black plastic box next to the battery.
- Unclip the 4 clips at the corners of the cover.
- Remove the cover and gain access to the fuses and relays.
Pay special attention to the following elements:
- ⚡ F1 (100A) — main power relay (if it burns out, the car will not start).
- 🔥 F3 (50A) — electric cooling fan (if it burns out, the engine overheats).
- ⛽ F10 (20A) — engine control unit (
ECU). - 💡 F25 (10A) — left headlight (low beam).
Important: If you have Octavia A7 RS with engine 2.0 TSI (220 hp), check the fuse F40 (30A) - he is responsible for the system Launch Control. If it burns out, the sports start function disappears.
What to do if F1 (100A) burns out?
This fuse is responsible for the main power circuit. If it burns out, the car will not start, and not a single light will light up on the dashboard. Reasons:
1. Short circuit in the starter or generator circuit.
2. Battery malfunction (reversal).
3. Damage to the main relay J317.
Fuse box in trunk (for versions with Virtual Cockpit)
In cars with digital dashboard (Virtual Cockpit) or multimedia system MIB2 added third fuse blocklocated under the trunk floor. He is responsible for:
- 📱 Dashboard screen.
- 🎵 Audio amplifier Canton or Dynaudio.
- 📡 Module
3G/LTE(if installed). - 🔌 230V socket (optional for European versions).
To access:
- Open the trunk and remove the carpet (pull the tab next to the spare tire).
- Under the mat you will see a black plastic cover measuring ~20x15 cm.
- Unscrew two screws
Torx T20and remove the cover.
The most problematic fuses are here:
| № | Denomination (A) | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| F1 | 10 | Display Virtual Cockpit |
| F3 | 20 | Audio amplifier |
| F5 | 5 | Wireless charging module (Qi) |
Attention! If after replacing the fuse F1 (10A) screen Virtual Cockpit If it doesn't work, check the connectors on the back of the dashboard. Often the problem lies in oxidized contacts, and not in the fuse itself.
If your screen stops working Virtual Cockpit, try resetting the settings by holding the button CAR on the steering wheel for 10 seconds. If this does not help, check fuse F1 in the luggage compartment.
How to check and replace a fuse: step-by-step instructions
For diagnostics and replacement of fuses in Octavia A7 you will need:
- 🔧 Tweezers (comes with the machine).
- 🔦 Flashlight (for inspecting the engine compartment).
- 📱 Multimeter (optional, to check voltage).
- 🔋 Set of spare fuses (set
ATC/ATOwith ratings from 5A to 30A).
Procedure:
- Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the lock.
- Find the faulty fuse according to the scheme (see sections above).
- Remove the fuse with tweezers and inspect it against the light: if the thread inside is burned out, it must be replaced.
- Install a new fuse same denomination (replacement with a fuse with a different value is not allowed!).
- Check the operation of the device. If the fuse blows again, there is a short circuit in the circuit.
If you are using multimeter, check the voltage at the fuse contacts in position ON (ignition on). On one contact there should be 12V, on the second - 0V. If there is no voltage on both contacts, there is a problem with the power supply to the circuit.
Never replace a fuse with a “bug” (wire or foil)! This may cause the wiring to catch fire. If the fuse constantly blows, look for the cause in a short circuit or a faulty device.
Common problems and their solutions
Here TOP-5 problemsproblems that owners face Octavia A7related to fuses:
- 🔌 Cigarette lighter doesn't work → Check F36 (20A) in the salon block. If the fuse is intact, the problem is in the socket (the contacts often oxidize).
- 🚗 Windows don't open → Culprit — F35 (30A) or relay
J359. Also check the buttons on the driver's door (they often stick). - 💡 Headlights don't come on → For low beam, check F25/F26 (10A), for distant - F27/F28 (10A). If the fuses are intact, the problem is in the lamps or light control unit (
BCM). - 🔊 The radio doesn't work → Check F57 (15A) in the passenger compartment and fuse F3 (10A) in the trunk (for MIB2).
- 🔥 The car won't start → First of all, check F1 (100A) and F10 (20A) in the engine compartment. If they are intact, the problem is in the starter, battery or
ECU.
If the problem persists after replacing the fuse, use diagnostic scanner (for example, VCDS or OBDeleven) to check errors in control units. Often the fault lies not in the fuse, but in the sensor or actuator.
If your fuse blows F42 (30A) for seat heating, check the resistance of the heating elements. The normal value is 1–3 ohms. If the resistance approaches zero, there is a short circuit in the seat.
FAQ: Frequently asked questions about Octavia A7 fuses
🔧 Which fuse controls the alarm?
The fuse is responsible for the standard alarm F48 (10A) in the salon block. If the alarm does not work, also check the relay J348 and comfort control unit (BCM).
🚗 Is it possible to install a fuse of a higher rating?
No! Installing a fuse with a higher rating (for example, 30A instead of 20A) can lead to wiring fire. If the fuse keeps blowing, look for a short circuit or a faulty device.
💡 Why does the cigarette lighter fuse (F36) blow?
Most often this happens due to:
- Using powerful devices (compressor, vacuum cleaner) without a splitter.
- Short circuit in the cigarette lighter socket (oxidation of contacts).
- The 12V socket in the trunk is faulty (it is connected to the same fuse).
Solution: Clean the socket contacts, use a splitter with a separate fuse.
🔧 Where to find a safety circuit for your package?
The fuse diagram may differ depending on the configuration and year of manufacture. The exact diagram for your Octavia A7 you will find:
- B instruction manual (section "Electrical equipment").
- On back of the fuse box cover (there is a diagram there).
- B electronic catalog ETKA (access by VIN code).
⚡ What should I do if the device does not work after replacing the fuse?
If the fuse is intact, but the device (for example, the radio or headlights) does not work, check:
- Condition relayassociated with this circuit.
- Power on connectors device (multimeter).
- Settings in the control unit (sometimes a system reboot is required after replacing a fuse).
- Wiring for breaks or oxidation.
If the problem persists, contact an electrician for diagnosis.
