These small protective elements are responsible for the stable operation of electrical equipment - from headlights to the on-board computer. However, finding the right fuse in a block without a diagram can be difficult: the manufacturer places them in different places depending on the year of manufacture and configuration.

Where are the fuse boxes in the Skoda Rapid?

On Rapid 2020β2023 model years (including Indian Slavia) the block under the hood can be moved closer to the windshield - this is due to a change in the layout of the engine compartment. In dealer manuals such a block is designated as SB29.

Fuse diagram in the interior block (2012β2017)
Salon block Rapid first generation (before facelift) contains 43 fuses and 12 relays. Numbering goes from left to right, top to bottom. Below is a table with the purpose of each element, relevant for most European versions (including Spaceback).

Fuse diagram under the hood (block SB29)
Block under the hood (SB29) contains high current fuses (from 30A to 100A) and relays responsible for the main power circuits: starter, generator, cooling fans, etc. On Rapid with diesel engines (1.6 TDI) the fuse for the high pressure fuel pump is also located here (F3, 30A).

Maxi Fuse fuses are larger in size (approximately 29x8 mm versus 19x5 mm for standard fuses) and have thicker legs. They are designed for currents up to 100A and are usually painted in bright colors (red, blue, yellow).

How to check and replace a fuse: step-by-step instructions
Before replacing the fuse, you must identify the cause of its burnout. If a new element burns out immediately after installation, there is a short circuit in the circuit, and wiring diagnostics are required. To work you will need:
- π Multimeter (or tester with continuity function)
- π οΈ Fuse puller (usually included with the vehicle)
- π A set of spare fuses (sets are sold in car dealerships, e.g. HELLA or BOSCH)
- π Fuse diagram (can be printed or saved to your phone)
Turn off the ignition and remove the battery terminal (negative)
Find the faulty fuse using the diagram
Check it with a multimeter or visually (the jumper must be intact)
Make sure the new fuse is the same rating

Disable negative battery terminal (this is mandatory for ECU or airbag related fuses).
Remove the fuse with tweezers. Examine it against the light: if the jumper inside is torn, it has burned out.
For an accurate check, use a multimeter in continuity mode: touch the fuse contacts with the probes. Beep means the item is OK.
Install a new fuse same denomination. If it burns out immediately, look for a short circuit in the circuit.
On Rapid with the system Start-Stop (engines 1.0 TSI) after replacing fuses it may be necessary error reset via a diagnostic scanner (for example, VCDS or OBDeleven). This is due to the fact that the ECU registers an open circuit as a malfunction.

After facelift in 2017 Skoda Rapid The layout of some fuses has changed, especially in the cabin block. Main differences:

Is it possible to replace the fuse with a more powerful one (for example, 10A instead of 5A)?
No! Each fuse is designed for maximum current, which the protected circuit can withstand. Installing a fuse with a higher rating will lead to overheating of the wires and a possible fire. If the fuse frequently blows, look for the cause (short circuit or increased load).
Where can I find a fuse diagram for the Indian version of Skoda Slavia?
